POWDERPOST & WOOD-BORING BEETLE CONTROL

POWDERPOST & WOOD-BORING BEETLES

Don’t let tiny holes in wood become a big problem. Powderpost beetles and other wood-boring insects can quietly damage structural elements if left untreated. Reliant Pest knows how to spot the signs and stop the damage.

Common Misunderstandings

These beetles are not always brought in through lumber or furniture. Most infestations are caused by naturally occurring beetles in our region. People often mistake normal wear or dust for beetle activity.

Why It Matters

Over time, wood-boring beetles can cause real structural damage. In older homes, or homes with crawlspaces and elevated humidity, the risk is even greater. The sooner they’re identified, the easier it is to stop further damage.

How We Treat It

  • Surface applications of insecticide on affected wood

  • Targeted injection when necessary

  • Moisture barrier installation if the problem is related to crawlspace humidity
